Obstructive Sleep Apnea
What is Sleep Apnea?
Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a life-threatening disease that can manifest as other health conditions when not properly diagnosed. Along with snoring, restless sleep, teeth grinding, night-time trips to the bathroom, and daytime tiredness are all signs of Sleep Apnea. Even high blood pressure, type II diabetes, stroke, heart attack and heart burn can be signs of un-diagnosed Sleep Apnea.
Sleep Apnea Diagnosis
Because of how many people there are unknowingly suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea, we have implemented a complementary airway assessment with all of our patients to help identify possible sleep related disorders prior to it causing life threatening conditions. We take pride in working with Sleep Centers all over CENLA to help bring awareness to this grossly underdiagnosed condition and aid in its treatment.
Sleep Apnea Treatment
Most patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea can be treated with a CPAP machine, but some who are unable or not willing to use one of these devices need an alternative solution to deal with their OSA. At Alexandria Family Dental Care we utilize the newest technology in pharyngometery and rhinometery to measure the airways to create a custom nighttime dental appliance to get you the sleep you deserve.
Treating your Sleep Apnea can not only get you the rest you need, it can increase your overall health and quality of life.
